Tunes for Toys

The Trombone Shorty Foundation and the Gia Maione Prima Foundation are proud to present the 6th Annual TUNES FOR TOYS on Thursday, December 19 at Tipitina’s! Our annual toy drive and music concert features performances by students from the Trombone Shorty Academy plus special guest Troy “Trombone Shorty” Andrews, plus Hot 8 Brass Band and New Breed Brass Band. This event is free and open to the public (18+ only), but attendees must bring a new toy in exchange for admission. The toys are collected and distributed as holiday gifts to children in need at an event the following day called “Toys from Troy,” taking place at Warren Easton High School. The evening is made possible by the generous sponsorship of the Gia Maione Prima Foundation and JP Morgan Chase. Learn more about our toy giveaway, “Toys from Troy,” HERE!

Doors open at 7pm, live music starting at 8pm. The Trombone Shorty Foundation Academy students are sure to deliver the standout performance of the night, at many of the students’ first time on the historic Tipitina’s stage. This is the first year this event will be held at Tipitina’s, at their original uptown location. There’s no better time of year to spread the joy while witnessing the next generation of New Orleans musical talent!
