This month, Shorty Foundation Alumni students traveled to Ludlow, VT to be part of a very special weekend full of music, community, and connection. Watching our students kick off 3 days worth of events for “Music on the Mountain” by performing at local schools, showing folks how to second line at the base of Okemo Mountain, and joining artists onstage later that night was incredibly meaningful. For many of these young musicians, this wasnโt just another performance. It was an opportunity to travel, collaborate, experience a different music community, and represent the culture and spirit of New Orleans.
Grateful to our partners at The Phoenix and Divided Sky Foundation for creating a space where music truly brings people together. We’re so proud of our students for showing up with so much heart, soul, and joy all weekend long! Check out this article by Relix, who captured the spirit of the weekend beautifully.
