The Trombone Shorty Foundation kicked off the first week of our free 4-part Masterclass series on September 22, “Intro to the Music Industry.” Instructor (and Trombone Shorty Foundation Director of Operations and Programs) Ashley Shabankareh introduces participants to the key players, pathways, and possibilities in today’s music business. Topics include the structure of the music industry; plus a deep dive into music rights, royalties, and how artists get paid. This course continues for 4 total sessions over the course of 2 weeks.
