ABC News special “Hurricane Katrina: 20 Years After the Storm”

“Hurricane Katrina: 20 Years After the Storm” revisits the people and communities affected by the devastating event, two decades later. ABC News produced this special feature touching on some of the most powerful stories and the resilience of our thriving city. They came out to film part of our fundraising event back in April, Shorty Fest Presented by Acura; and talked to locals who remember well the life changing turn of events including Troy “Trombone Shorty” Andrews and one of our Academy Instructors (and Alumni) Jasmine Batiste. The special airs Friday, August 29 at 7pm CT. Watch the preview below.
